MEMORANDUM
Kira Henehan
in the house are doors let’s look then at one
behind this door a box each assumed then a box in the boxes hang bones they are held up with clothespins
we (lucky) chieftains here (for hair) and bones wear polite wear light-haired garments to let in the air and keep out the rain
the raccoons scratch the shingles so out the window bits fall like daybreak from sky we have been heated and cooled with advantage though things barometrical need be considered (simply put for the simpleton among us)
hostile shoulders turned from contents (the knobby keys like pocket birdsong: warbling, warbling) boxes or bowls or closets any and what things! entirely dependent on imprint like instinct with only vague and troublesome distinctions all encoded nonetheless in the bone this we know (or can state with relative certainty or surmise at least based in part on empirical evidence in other part by other factors complicating too many too complex to begin to get into when one insists on a thorough semantic)
get in the box
we can tell when things are ashed the absent rattle when the wind through the panes only whistles its high thin drone making even a new night ancient a summer day chill
it is always night in the life of bones (and there’s a party in my pants a playground wedged in a quiet canal a rocket in my pocket et cetera but the bones hang alone with little to offer in the way of recreation)
this is not a compound overthere however is (and are) though the first forced and lacking education
and a break here could mean many things when the talk so varied as to include bones and cases and relations all and alike (when an avid grasp is demanded of syntax)
this is not a compound
consider the stairs the crossings the rebuttals and switchbacks and disavowals one must navigate the candlelit passage the tracts of time overhung with stalactite the crowding brought about by tour-groups another animal altogether without respite of disinterred season
or merely housing perhaps those bolts of fabric one finds in the better shops which surely deliver themselves of and in boxes tall enough for a short skeleton or a regular- or even large-sized skeleton if the bones adjusted and hung side by side or stacked or shattered though depending on impetus for preservation a shattering maybe self-defeatist—would scouring even in fact then be ill-advised?
(the Olympic-sized pool also draws its fair share though the pursuit of appearance has become passé) for who knows but that bone’s composition (de- or re-) or maintaining its stasis relies on the detritus let to dry? there are these among other concerns to be compiled assessed concluded and shelved among the presumably bones next order
